Farmer loses`14L of lotterywin, gets it back

Rupesh Dhage, a soyabean farmer from Maharashtra’s Wardha, was oncloud nine after winning Rs 21lakh through a fantasy cricketgaming app earlier this year.He received Rs 15 lakh in hisaccount after deduction ofvarious surcharges of whichhe withdrew Rs 1 lakh.However, his happinesswas short-lived as a hacker, impersonating as an executive ofthe gaming app, siphoned offRs 14 lakh left in his app account after procuring the IDand password from Dhage onJanuary 12. This was done onthe pretext of updating hisKYC details. After the scamster struck, Dhage rushed tothe cyber cell of Wardha police, which managed to retrieve the entire lost amount ofRs 14 lakh and restored it to hisaccount within four days.
